About Essence
One team,
start to finish.
We’re a Brighton & Hove building firm renovating homes and commercial spaces across Sussex.
We started Essence Construction to do building work the way we’d want it done in our own homes: honest pricing, a team that turns up, and a finish we’re proud to put our name on.
From a single-room refit to a full refurbishment, we coordinate the trades and keep you informed through one point of contact.
The way we work
- 01
Local & accountable
Based in Brighton & Hove, working across Sussex. You deal with the people doing the work, not a call centre.
- 02
One team, every trade
Builders, plumbers, electricians, tilers, carpenters and decorators under one roof, coordinated by a single point of contact.
- 03
Tidy & respectful
Dust sheets down, sites kept clean, and your home treated like it's our own, especially when you're still living in it.
- 04
Built to last
Quality materials and proper detailing, so the finish still looks right years after we've handed the keys back.
How a project runs
Clear from
quote to keys
One project-managed team from the first site visit to the final handover, so you always know what’s happening and when.
- 01
Quote & site visit
We come and see the space, talk through what you want, and put it into a clear, itemised quotation, free and with no pressure.
- 02
Plan & schedule
We agree a scope, a price and a realistic timeline before anyone picks up a tool, so you know exactly what's happening and when.
- 03
The build
One project-managed team handles every trade in the right order, keeping you updated and the site tidy throughout.
- 04
Snagging & handover
We walk the finished work with you, sort any final details, and don't call it done until you're happy with it.
