Flint Frontage
A period flint building brought back to life from the outside in: decayed windows and a weathered timber door restored, render repaired and stonework repointed.
Brighton
The project
A characterful flint-fronted period building that had been left exposed to the weather for too long. Working off full scaffolding, we tackled the frontage from top to bottom, repairing rotten window joinery, making good the render and repointing the knapped flint.
The original arched timber door was stripped, repaired and refinished with its ornate ironwork put back, and the windows were overhauled and repainted a crisp white, so the building reads as cared-for again without losing any of its period character.
